Own Your Own Safety (BASICS) for BIPOC – Feb 2023

Class Participants!

This transformational program teaches practical skills to enhance your personal safety, increase your confidence and prevent violence. You are capable and strong!  Add to your safety toolbox with our most comprehensive course!

  • 3 days of intense emotional and physical self-defense training!
  • The full set of safety skills from awareness raising skills, verbal strategies, and physical protection.
  • Interactive scenarios to enhance real life application of the skills taught.
  • Time to practice your skills with highly trained instructors: which includes a “coach” and a suited “assailant”

Past participants have said this program helped them increase feelings of personal power and choice. Others have said it helped them begin their healing journey.

This program is designed specifically for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), women, ages 18 and over, helping to maximize power and confidence in a supportive environment.

Dates: Friday, February 17, 2023 from 5pm-9pm, Saturday, Feb 18 and Sunday, Feb 19 from 9am-6pm

Donation Based Program

To keep our classes open and accessible to all, we ask that you contribute a donation you can afford, at the highest level you can. Suggested Donation: $125. This class is normally $450!

Cancellation/Refund Policy:

Cancellation/Refund AND Transferring Registration Policy: If notice of cancellation of registration is received in written form (snail mail or email) more than two full weeks before the first day of class, there is a full refund minus $50.00 of the deposit.

If notice of cancellation is received less than two weeks before the first day of class, the deposit and tuition is non-refundable. Your deposit and tuition can be applied for a future program for yourself or someone else. If you fail to show up for class, for any reason, on the day class begins, or later, there is no refund or transfer option.

If you have extenuating circumstances (e.g, illness, funeral), please provide a doctor’s note or other documentation to our office. We will work with you to determine how best to address the situation.
